Weekend Twitch/YouTube Streams (06/23/16 - 06/26/16)

The past 4 days have been a lot of fun for streaming! Here are this weekend's full streams and highlights from both Twitch and YouTube. Please note that since I was feeling ill Saturday evening, I had to cancel my weekly YouTube Gaming "Late Night Stream" for Bastion. I will be continuing the game soon, but please read an announcement about changes I'm making to my stream schedule at the bottom of this post!

On Sunday, I decided to test out something I discovered for streaming to YouTube and Twitch. I came across Restream.io which is designed specifically to broadcasts live streams from software like OBS (which is what I use to stream) and send that stream simultaneously to Twitch and YouTube at the same time. I tested it with my usual Twitch stream friends and we played Overwatch and Drawful 2 (embedded above).

Everything worked surprisingly well. We got viewers and chat interaction from both platforms discovering the stream. From the responses I got, the quality was great for both platforms, though Twitch seems to possibly have less latency (which benefits viewer interacted games like Drawful 2). So I will definitely be using this more for future streams.

You'll also notice I streamed every night from Thursday to Sunday. I'm also testing out streaming more nights as much as I possibly can. Unfortunately, streaming is not my full time job. In fact, I don't have options for donations at this time. So I try to work my stream schedule around my personal life and it's very challenging when things change each week.

I will try to stream Thursday to Sunday nights as much as I can, though I'm mostly focused on streaming Friday and Saturday nights every week for my regular schedule. I will also attempt to stream to both YouTube and Twitch at the same time to expand my audience. I'm not sure if I'll bring "Late Night Streams" to Twitch as well, but we'll see. I'm still trying to figure everything out at this point.

So if anybody has read through this, a fun question you can answer in the comments (just because I'm curious); do you prefer YouTube Gaming or Twitch and why?
