Details and Conditions

The original Telltale Games closed and sold off it's licences and assets back in 2018 after financial issues. Many of it's properties were acquired by LCG Entertainment, which now opperates as "Telltale Games." Asside from the games listed on their website, I was not able to find a complete list of which games they still retain the rights to.

Prior to it's acquisition, I started researching Telltale's policy on YouTube monetization right as the company was closing. There was and remains no official statement on this that I've been able to find, and even if there were a statement by Telltale Games previously, it doesn't necessarily mean that LCG Entertainment hold the same policies.

The other complication is that most games developed or published by Telltale games, in either capacity, involve licensed characters or properties that do not belong to Telltale and would require additional permissions, such as their comic book and television series related games, in addition to any licensed music used in their games that could result in a copyright claim on your videos.

It is most likely that you should not bother pursuing monetizing your videos of Telltale games.

What it Means

  • More research is required

  • Any licensed IP or music not owned by the publisher are not covered by this policy
